Prediction Post #1

OMG...Excited!

Alright...It's time for Death odds.

Claire- 1:1- I'm pretty sure she's already dead, but I didn't know what to do with her. She's either dead or she's just never leaving--so either way, it's not looking good. This, of course, brings up official questions as to "When exactly is someone dead on the island?" Which I will now define as fulfilling one of the following three elements:

1. They get buried in the ground (Nikki and Paolo are dead)
2. They lose their corporeal form (Jack's Dad and Probably Claire are dead)
3. Somebody says "So and so is dead" (Charlie is dead, B/C Desmond told Hurley he was--even though he's all about the vision quest now.)

Frank- 3:1- I like Frank, he reminds me of that crazy uncle you have who tells you stories about Vietnam and challenges you to drinking contests, but let's think about his current predicament: He's on a boat w/ Desmond and Penny. He was really only around last season b/c he could fly a helicopter. If any one of the Freighter Folk Die. It'll be him.

Penny- 5:1- Hmmm...what major plot event could possibly be used to try and get Desmond back to the island? I don't like it either.

Rose/Bernard- 6:1- But, would anyone miss them?

Charlotte-8:1- What does she do again, besides freaking Jin out w/ her random Korean and dying the carpet to match the drapes?

Jin- 10:1- This is your headfake death. He lived through the boat thing...and they're never going to tear up TV's cutest diversity-increasing couple, but how awesome would it be if this happened:

Juliet: Who is that?
Sawyer: I don't believe it!
(Triumphant music)
Jin: Boat...Boom.
(Jin gets shot)

Miles- 15:1- I'd put him higher, but I can totally see some situation where he might be more valuable dead than alive based on that whole ghost-talking thing he's got going on.

Juliet- 20:1
Sawyer- 20:1- These two are together for two reasons. First, they're totally going to make out, b/c Sawyer loves him some Jack Shepard Sloppy Seconds. Second, I really doubt that one of them would die without still being around in some weird ghost/time travel way. If anyone is, I think they're your upset special.

Daniel- 30:1- Faraday is the heart of this season, b/c he's the time travel guy. Of everyone left on the island, I think he has the lowest chance of dying.

Or the highest...

Uh-oh.

Obviously, those off the island have a much lower chance of dying--because they have to do that whole "Get back to the island to get to the next level" thing. Said circumstance is reflected below.

Hurley- 100:1- Why would they kill Hugo? Why? That being said--you want to have one of those "tug on the heartstrings/sacrifice" deaths--that's hurley. That being said, he's also insane, so you never know when that might catch up to him.

Sayid- 150:1- Ummm...he's a badass. But his tendency to place himself it situations where the rest of us would...what's the word...get blowed up?

Desmond- 175:1- Desmond is odd. I think that he might be as important as the all-stars below, but at the same time--you never know. He could be a sacrifice that the island demands.

Sun- 200: 1- Sun's not dying. She's only here because she's not dying less than the other 4.

Jack- 500:1
Locke- 500:1
Ben- 500:1
Kate- 500: 1

Obviously, Locke dies at some point (season finale?) but there's wayyyy too much baggage there. Plus, when they take him back to the island he's totally going to pull a Christian Shepard and leave his empty coffin behind. That being said- none of them will die. Jack's the main character, and as whiny and bad at having more than 2 emotions as he is-he's not going anywhere. Ben's the antagonist--plus someone has to keep Richard Alpert's (who isn't on this list b/c he's obviously immortal and thus any odds would be irrelevant) Maybelline collection in order. And Kate? Well...there has to be some eye-candy somewhere, right?

Walt- 1000:1- He's the key to the whole show. He'll be back on the island by the end of the season.

And yes...I did write this instead of paying attention in ConLaw today.
